 What is CUSP Access? 

Based on the same proven, evidence-informed principles as CUSP (Curriculum with Unity Schools Partnership), CUSP Access is: 

  • sequenced and coherent to ensure pupils build up knowledge and retain what they have learned 
  • built around a core spine of beautiful books that help pupils understand and explore core concepts 
  • fully resourced so you have everything you need to focus on impactful teaching 
  • generative – it will get better and better as we use it and learn more about what works well (and what needs refining) 
  • co-constructed – it is being built with the input and feedback of SEND consultants and experts across the UK 
  • a partnership rather than just a product – you are a really important part of it

CUSP Access has been built with exactly the same approach as our core curriculum. 

  • Identify the foundational knowledge that is the desired end point for students 
  • Build the literature spine to expose the core concepts in the curriculum and soak pupils in brilliant literature 
  • Sequence the core concepts to ensure that pupils learn cumulatively and retain what they have learned 
  • Sequence the modules for maximum coherence to build strong schemas of knowledge 
  • Distil this into the CUSP pedagogical framework to build excellent practitioners 
  • Resource the curriculum fully to refocus teacher time on rehearsal, exposition and adaptation
